چکیده

ÖZET T approach (TRA) for coronary angiography is a popular alternative approach to transfemoral coronary angiography, with infrequent occurrence of access site complications including bleeding, hematoma and pseudoaneursym formation.[1–3] Patients prefer the transradial approach because of its comfort, resulting shorter hospital stay, lack of necessity to be in the supine position during the procedure, and better and earlier physical and social functioning post-procedure.[1–5] Blood supply to the hand is provided by a double arterial system consisting of the radial and ulnar arteries. In the event of adequate ulnar circulation, the transradial route may be tried for coronary angiography. However, TRA may not possible for all patients with good ulnar collateral circulation. Small radial artery size is an important obstacle, and therefore estimating radial artery diameters may be valuable for clinicians and patients who are candidates for TRA in selecting the most appropriate approach route and instrument, and in saving time. The aim of this study is to determine the predictors of radial artery diameters in candidates for TRA. To our knowledge, this is the first study to evaluate the role of occupation in predicting radial artery size in candidates for TRA.

Safety and feasibility of the new 5 Fr Glidesheath Slender.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and feasibility of the new 5 Fr Glidesheath Slender (GSS). The transradial (TR) approach has become popular because of several advantages, such as a reduced rate of vascular access site complications. However, because the radial artery is narrow, a limitation of TR access is the potential for artery spasm or occlusion. Studies of radial artery si...

Incidence of radial artery occlusion in radial angiography compared with snuffbox angiography

Background: Transradial access is one of the main access techniques in angiography. This method is technically more difficult as it is associated with radial artery occlusion. Radial artery cannulation from the dorsal surface of the hand in the snuffbox area has been introduced as a suitable solution to overcome some of the disadvantages of the standard radial artery method. This study was cond...

Koroner arter anevrizması nadiren görülmekte ve tanı genellikle koroner anjiyografi sırasında tesadüfen konulmaktadır. Ateroskleroz, Kawasaki hastalığı, otoimmün hastalıklar ve sifiliz sık görülen etyolojik faktörler arasındadır. Anevrizma kesesinin spontan rüptürü, trombozu ve distal emboli mortalite ve morbiditenin başlıca nedenleridir. Tedavi seçenekleri lezyonun yeri ve boyutu ve hastanın k...

Balloon-Assisted Tracking to Overcome Radial Spasm during Transradial Coronary Angiography: A Case Report

Spasm of the radial artery is the most important cause of failure to perform coronary angiography via the transradial approach. Spasmolytic cocktail may prevent radial artery spasm but is relatively contraindicated in patients with aortic stenosis or diminished left ventricular function. In this case report we describe a recently published technique to overcome severe radial spasm during transr...
